Features

Turn back the clock on a bad edit

Install Retracify today and every change from here on has a before, an after and a way back.

Activity log

Find out what changed when something on your store looks wrong

Every edit to products, collections, pages, articles, metafields and metaobjects lands in one log, newest first. Your history starts the moment you install.

Before and after

See when a price changed, from what, and to what

Every change shows its before and after, field by field, with the exact words that changed highlighted.

A change in Retracify showing a variant price going from 249 to 199 and a metafield edit with the changed words highlighted
Item history

Every change to one product, in order

Open any product, collection, page or article to see its whole timeline in one place: prices, variants, collections, metafields and descriptions, newest first, each with who made it when Shopify records it.

Undo

Get back a description an import overwrote

Undo one field at a time: a price, a description or a metafield. Restore only the fields you need, and nothing else on the item changes.

  • Checks Shopify's current value first and warns you if someone changed it since
  • Each revert is logged as its own change, with the name of the person who clicked it
  • Fields that can't be reverted say why, instead of failing silently

Sales channels and markets

Know when a product was hidden from a sales channel or market

Channel and market changes land in the same history as everything else, along with market price edits that Shopify sends no notification for.

A market price change for the European Union and a product added to Online Store and removed from the European Union market
Authors

Staff and app names wherever Shopify records the author

See who made a change when Shopify records it. When it doesn't, Retracify says "No author from Shopify" instead of guessing.

A reverted change credited to a staff member, and a change made by an app with the message Shopify recorded
Search

Find any change fast

Search the activity feed by title and filter by resource, change type and date to get to the change behind a problem in seconds. Open any item to see its full timeline, or share a filtered link with your team.

FAQ

Straight answers

Can I see who changed a price?
Not always, and no app can. Shopify records the author for creates, deletes, publishing, status changes and article edits, and Retracify shows those names. For plain field edits on products, variants, collections and pages, Shopify records no author at all, so we show "No author from Shopify" instead of guessing.
Does it track changes made by other apps and imports?
Yes. Edits from other apps, bulk imports like Matrixify or CSV, and the Admin API are recorded like any other change, field by field. Shopify rarely says which app made a plain edit, so those show "No author from Shopify".
Does it track orders, customers or inventory?
No. Retracify tracks your catalog and content: products, variants, collections, pages, blogs, articles, metafields, metaobjects and market prices. Orders, customers and inventory levels are not tracked.
Do I need to set anything up?
No. On install Retracify takes a snapshot of your store and starts recording right away. Every metafield namespace is tracked by default.
How far back does history go?
History starts when you install. Retracify takes a snapshot of your store at that moment and records every change after it. Your plan sets how much of that history you can see: 7, 30 or 365 days.
What happens to my history if I change plans?
It stays. Your plan only sets how far back you can see, so upgrading shows older history again.
What can't be reverted?
Revert works on edits. It can't undo a create or a delete, product options, media, adding or removing variants, smart-collection conditions, channel and market listings, or very large values over 64 KB. The change page tells you which fields can't be reverted and why.
Can I restore a deleted product?
Not yet. Retracify records the delete and keeps the item's history, and restoring deleted items is on the roadmap.
Does it track theme changes?
Not yet. Theme tracking is on the roadmap. Today Retracify covers your catalog, content, metaobjects and market prices.
Does it work with Shopify Markets and sales channels?
Yes. Market price edits, and products or variants published to or hidden from a sales channel or market, land in the same history as every other change.
Why do page and article edits take a few minutes?
Shopify doesn't notify apps when pages, blogs or articles change, so Retracify checks them on a schedule.
Will it slow down my store?
No. Retracify runs in the background and adds nothing to your storefront or theme.
